David leon fans: Vera

David starred alongside Brenda Blethyn for 6 series of the popular crime drama.   His return after a 10 year absence had fans in a tizzy and holding out hope for a future spin off for the now DI.   David took a fairly routine sidekick role and infused it with vulnerability.   Dealing in the early years with the pressures of being a husband and father and the expectations to climb the ladder, all while dealing with an unusual mentor (Vera).  To the later years, dealing with a dying father and most likely facing his own aging and mortality.  Joe Ashworth very much mirrored Vera Stanhope's path and it would be interesting to see where he ends up.
